Happy 4th everyone. What better day to talk about debt free than on the day our wonderful country celebrates its independence.
Yes, it is wonderful to be debt free, but I feel like I am now going through a transition of What’s Next? The day I called and made the last payment on my student loans was a day of disbelief. A sense of calm and peace just came over me along with excitement and WOW! I can’t believe it.
I went so hard for so long, cutting everywhere I could and going intense for so long that when it was finally finished, I didn’t know what to do with myself. Of course, I did the normal things such as setting up my investment accounts and began to pay extra on my mortgage, but I did not know what I wanted to spend my guilt-free money on. (Guilt-free money is the money you have left over after you have taken care of your monthly expenses, investment, and savings a fully automated and funded and the money that is left is yours to enjoy.)
Now that you are debt free, what are you going to do?
Well, some of the things that I used to spend my money on before my debt free journey no longer interest me. So now I am reevaluating what brings me joy and what it is that I want to do and spend my money on. I guess in simple terms I am redesigning my best life vision. Which is not a bad place to be.
What would you do? And I am not talking about vacationing with the family and giving. These are automatic for me. I set aside money out of every paycheck to fund these line item in my budget. What does your rich life look like. Leave a comment. I love to hear it.
