The Dream Looks Different From the Middle
September 15, 2026

Have you ever decided to do something big and then, somewhere in the middle of doing it, thought:
What was I thinking?
Maybe you started a business, took a risk on a dream, or made a decision that required you to bet on yourself.
In the beginning, you're excited. You have the vision and can see exactly what you want to create.
Then you start doing the actual work.
And that's when you realize the sheer breadth of what you've taken on.
You can shrink and tell yourself, “At least I tried.”
Or you can acknowledge your limitations, adjust your expectations, find another way to execute, and keep going.
I'm currently living this.
Betting on Myself
This year, I took on two major projects that have been part of my business growth plan.
The first was my Living Well with Money seminar in April.
Initially, I thought, I'm only looking for about 50 people. This is my first financial seminar. I can do this.
And I did.
But I quickly realized how much work goes into getting those 50 people into a room—the promotion, partnerships, logistics, communication, and all the little things happening behind the scenes.
There were moments when I thought:
I need a bigger team.
But I've noticed something whenever I take on something big in my life.
There's always been a ram in the bush.
God has always sent someone at the right time to provide support in ways I didn't necessarily expect.
I still have to do the heavy lifting, but somehow, help shows up.
And Then Came the Digital Course
Now I'm experiencing it all over again as I prepare to launch my first digital course.
Finding a videographer.
Creating the curriculum.
Building the workbooks.
Setting up the technology.
Writing emails.
Marketing.
And about a hundred other things nobody will ever see. 😂
There have definitely been moments when I've wondered what I got myself into.
But there's also something incredibly rewarding about watching something that once existed only in your head slowly come to life.
And I've had to adjust along the way.
Some things I've outsourced.
Some things I've learned to do myself.
Some things I've decided can wait.
Because betting on yourself doesn't mean you have unlimited time, money, or resources.
Sometimes it means looking at what you have right now and figuring out how to keep moving forward.
Keep Going
I think we sometimes look at people who have accomplished something and only see the finished product.
We don't see the messy middle.
The doubt.
The unexpected expenses.
The mistakes.
The adjustments.
The moments when they probably wondered whether the whole thing was a good idea.
I'm in that middle right now.
And I'm learning that you don't have to have everything figured out to keep going.
Ask for help.
Adjust the plan.
Work within your current limitations.
And when the original plan doesn't work, find another way.
Because sometimes betting on yourself simply means waking up the next day and saying:
Okay. What's the next step?
And then taking it.
Keep your money Irie.
